How they're made
Cutting in circular or other shape
This unit operation involves the use of a 'button cutting circular saw', 'band saw machine' and 'high speed circle cutting machine'. The raw material is first cut by the circular saw and band saw to the required sizes. Next, the button piece is formed into a circular shape by applying the high speed circle cutting machine.
The final stage of button making involves designing the buttons according to the buttons garment companies specifications.
Hole making
After the button is cut into a circular shape, the required holes are formed by a hole making machine.
Finishing and polishing
This is the process by which the button is treated on a 'lathe machine', where the edge and the button face are properly polished by a polishing material so as to give the product a smooth finish.
Quality Check
After the buttons are made, they are put on a table and visually inspected for faults. The quality control inspector checks each button for defects and removes any cracked or mis-cut buttons.
Finally...!
The polished and finished product is carefully packed and dispatched to market.
